Ms. McIlwain was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1994, the United States District Court For the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in 1996, the North Carolina Bar in 1999 and the Washington State Bar in 2000. She graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in 1987 and from the University of North Carolina with a J.D. in 1993. Ms. McIlwain is a member of the King County Bar Association, the Washington State Bar, the North Carolina State Bar, the Pennsylvania State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
